Grand Glaize Creek Update |
|||||
|
The Grand Glaize Creek that runs in the back of the subdivision has been causing erosion problems for some time now. Based on an approval of a property tax for parks and storm water control, funding may be available to begin addressing the problem. On this page, you can see pictures detailing some of problem areas as well as information about getting involved! |

| Did You Know? Did you know the Grand Glaize Creek flows from an area north of Manchester Road? The water from this creek plus street runoff from existing and new development pass through the creek and into the lake in Seven Oaks Subdivision before draining from the lake overflow and continuing on eventually into the Meremac River. The erosion is causing the lake to fill with sediment that will eventually need to be dredged again. Any debris dumped into the creek is caught on the overflow grate, which is only 6' by 12' with 5" wide openings. | |||||
| It's A Neighborhood Issue! This issue has affected resident's who back to the creek for some time. The liability of the costs of dredging the lake, possible damages caused by the erosion, and the reduction in property values are shared by all residents, however. Please get involved for the good of the entire community. |

| What can you do?: The links below are for phone and email to people involved or sites related to organizations who may have a say in any creek improvement project. Whatever area shows the most interest will be the first to get funding and the problems addressed. Please contact your alderman or the Manchester City Hall to voice your support for Seven Oaks and your neighbors. This project could prevent costly lake dredging projects in the future. | |||||
