Sugar Creek Park Run: Leave the
corner of Stone Canyon and Dougherty Ferry and head east (left) on
Dougherty Ferry towards I-270. At the corner of Des Peres Road and
Dougherty Ferry is Sugar Creek Park (approx 1.2 miles). Return the
same route. About the route: The route is very flat and perfect for beginners or those looking for a shorter route. Stay on the north side of Dougherty Ferry where there is adequate shoulder area for safety. A drawback is it can be noisy due to the traffic on Dougherty Ferry. If additional mileage is desired, Sugar Creek Park has a well paved short path around the park (approx. 4/10 of a mile. Approximate Distance: 2.4 miles.

Des Peres Road Run: Leave the
corner of Stone Canyon and Dougherty Ferry and head east (left) on
Dougherty Ferry towards I-270. At the corner of Des Peres Road and
Dougherty Ferry is Sugar Creek Park (approx 1.2 miles). Head north
(left) on Des Peres Road and proceed to Manchester road (1.4 miles).
Return the same route. About the route: The route is a good mix of very flat and very hilly. The Des Peres Road stretch gives a good hill challenge. Stay on the north side of Dougherty Ferry where there is adequate shoulder area for safety. Des Peres Road has good sidewalks for running. A drawback is it can be noisy due to the traffic on Dougherty Ferry. Approximate Distance: 4.8 miles.

St. Gerard Run: Leave the corner
of Stone Canyon and Dougherty Ferry and head east (left) on Dougherty
Ferry towards I-270. Cross over I-270 to the corner of Ballas and
Dougherty Ferry Road (approx 1.8 miles). Return the same route. About the route: The route is generally flat but has one hill crossing I-270. Stay on the north side of Dougherty Ferry where there is adequate shoulder area for safety. A drawback is it can be noisy due to the traffic on Dougherty Ferry. Approximate Distance: 3.6 miles. |
Lindemann Road Run: Leave the
corner of Stone Canyon and Dougherty Ferry and head east (left) on
Dougherty Ferry towards I-270. At the corner of Des Peres Road and
Dougherty Ferry is Sugar Creek Park (approx 1.2 miles). Head north
(left) on Des Peres Road and proceed to Manchester road (1.4 miles).
Turn east (right) on Manchester Road and proceed over I-270 past the West
Country Mall to Lindemann Road (1 mile). Turn south (right) on
Lindemann to Dougherty Ferry Road (1 mile). Turn west (right) on
Dougherty Ferry Road. Proceed over I-270 to Stone Canyon Rd. (2.2
miles). About the route: The route is a good mix of very flat and very hilly. The Des Peres Road stretch gives a good hill challenge as does the Lindemann Road stretch. Stay on the north side of Dougherty Ferry where there is adequate shoulder area for safety. Des Peres Road has good sidewalks for running. A drawback is it can be noisy due to the traffic on Dougherty Ferry. There is a downhill portion on the return stretch of Dougherty Ferry Rd. Approximate Distance: 6.8 miles. |

Kirkwood Road Run Road Run:
Leave the corner of Stone Canyon and Dougherty Ferry and head east (left)
on Dougherty Ferry towards I-270. At the corner of Des Peres Road
and Dougherty Ferry is Sugar Creek Park (approx 1.2 miles). Head
north (left) on Des Peres Road and proceed to Manchester road (1.4 miles).
Turn east (right) on Manchester Road and proceed over I-270 past the West
Country Mall to Kirkwood Road (2.5 miles). Turn south (right) on
Kirkwood Road to Essex Road (.8 miles). Proceed west (right) on
Essex to Dougherty Ferry Road (1.3 miles). Turn west (left) on
Dougherty Ferry Road. Proceed over I-270 to Stone Canyon Rd. (2.4
miles). About the route: The route is a good mix of very flat and very hilly. The Des Peres Road stretch gives a good hill challenge. Stay on the north side of Dougherty Ferry where there is adequate shoulder area for safety. Des Peres Road has good sidewalks for running. A drawback is it can be noisy due to the traffic on Dougherty Ferry. It is better to do this route prior to 9:00 am on weekends because there can be a lot of traffic with people exiting businesses on Manchester Road. There is a downhill portion on the return stretch of Dougherty Ferry Rd. Approximate Distance: 9.6 miles. |
